Hunter Boyd

Hi I’m Hunter Boyd.

Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I witnessed the inevitable highs and lows that entrepreneurs face on their journey to building successful businesses. I remember those nights at the dinner table listening to my parents talk about their personal and business finances- more often than not, it wasn’t a fun conversation. I guess after years of watching my family work like dogs I started to wonder what I could do to help them pursue the financial freedom they were working so hard to achieve.

It wasn’t until I studied entrepreneurship in college and then spent some time in the financial planning world that I realized what had held my parents back all those years- working harder instead of working smarter. Looking back with the knowledge I have now, there were so many missed opportunities that kept my parents from pursuing financial independence sooner.

That is why I started Solopreneur Financial, to help the entrepreneurs out there who are masters of their craft, but need someone striving to cover their financial blind spots.

A few things about me…

  • Live in Woodford County Kentucky a few minutes down the road from Woodford Reserve Bourbon Distillery and world-class horse farms
  • Grew up on a 5th generation apple orchard- if you ever ate Gerber applesauce, we may have grown the apples
  • Studied entrepreneurship at Western Kentucky University
  • Love to go lobstering and spearfishing (both scuba and freediving)
  • Learned Spanish before English (not fluent anymore though, darn shame!)
  • Came face-to-face with a bear
  • Sneak peek at my Bucket List: catch a roosterfish on a fly rod in Costa Rica, hike the Appalachian Trail, go heli-skiing, complete an Ironman triathlon

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, I married my beautiful wife Alana in our backyard. We have a son, Briggs, and a goldendoodle named Frankie. Locally, I sit on the Board of Advisors for the Woodford County Community Fund and Spark Community Cafe, both are non-profits that address needs in our local community.

If you’ve made it this far and feel like we may be a good fit to work together, or if you have specific questions, drop me a line. I’d welcome the opportunity to chat!

Let the good times roll,

Hunter
